Become a Mentor - Give Back to Our Community
Beekeeping is best learned hands-on, and one of the most meaningful ways to support the health of bees—and the future of beekeeping—is by mentoring someone new to the craft. That’s why our CBA Mentorship Program continues to grow: it connects new and intermediate beekeepers with experienced members who can share their wisdom, help prevent avoidable mistakes, and encourage successful backyard beekeeping practices.
We’re asking experienced beekeepers to volunteer a little bit of their time to mentor someone—even just one mentee makes a big impact. It’s our hope that your own experiences and interactions this season have inspired you to give back to the community we all love.

Although CBA is a large and active organization, only a small number of members currently serve as mentors, and the need is constantly growing. If you can consider the request, think back to when you were starting out. Chances are, someone helped you (or maybe you wished someone had?). Beekeeping is better together.
By becoming a mentor, you’ll not only help someone grow—you’ll strengthen the entire beekeeping community.
What does mentoring involve?
Often, mentoring takes less time than you’d expect. New beekeepers usually just need someone they can turn to for practical advice and answers to basic questions. Your presence, patience, and perspective could be exactly what someone needs to feel supported and confident. Mentors are offered the option to volunteer via email or on-site mentorships, and mentees can choose which type of support they prefer.
