2017 CBA Scholarship for High School Students
The Connecticut Beekeepers Association is offering a scholarship to high school students. The applicants must be freshman, sophomore, junior or senior in a Connecticut high school on January 1, 2018.
The applicants are asked to write an essay of 500 words or less on why he or she wants to become a beekeeper and how they will use the knowledge and experience they acquire while practicing the science of beekeeping to advance their education and/or their career.
There will be one scholarship recipient and three runners up. The recipient will receive a complete beehive, including bees, protective clothing, equipment needed to start beekeeping, access to our Bee School, periodic meetings with a mentor to help get them started for their first year as a beekeeper. The Scholarship Application, essay and all documents required by the application must be sent by United States Mail and be received on or before November 1, 2017. The mailing address is:
